Change static ip address from one NIC to other NIC fails

Hello,
I’m using TrueNAS Scale 24.10.1 and I try to change my static IP address from a 1gbit NIC to a 10gbit NIC and I fail to do that. I have seen that I need to unset the pool for apps in a thread that I cannot link here (I just removed all apps and the apps service is stopped now).

But I still have the problem, that I cannot remove the IP from one NIC and add it to the other interface. If I “enforce” it on the console, via the “configure network interfaces”, and then try to ping the IP address, it never answers and I can see in the arp cache, that the wrong MAC address shows up. I also cannot ping from TrueNAS.

I don’t get any errors, it just does not work. I also tried to set an IP address from another subnet temporary because I have seen that multiple NICs in the same subnet are not allowed.

What I have to admit: I had a DHCP and a static ip address configured before in the same subnet because I did not know about the limitation. But I removed all DHCP and the static IP works fine on the 1gbit NIC. I just cannot get it working on the 10gbit nic.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Thorben

please ignore this post, it seems there is a physical network misconfiguration
