Sometimes the wisdom of the crowd is worth considering.
Yeah, I did check. My mobo does not support it or I would go that route.
Another safe thing to do, pull the boot drive you have and use a different drive.
You should be able to pull the config off the old drive as well, I said should.
EDIT: Did you also run a CPU Stress Test? You should do all the testing you can to validate your hardware to the best of your ability. That is what I would do.
So I successfully got TrueNAS scale installed and reattached the pool. Still getting errors when copying files, so much of the data may have gotten corrupted. Also getting messages about the drives being formatted with DIF (data integrity feature) which is not supported. Seems like I may need to transfer as much data as I can from the pool and then format the drives again.
Yes, backup all the data you can, that is the smart move.
I’m not familiar with DIF, my ignorance of course.
After grabbing your data, do the stress tests. If your CPU, motherboard, power supply, RAM, or something else is the problem, the stress tests are a good way to try to locate these issues.
When it comes to stress tests, let the tests run, and if you have a problem like what you do have, run for 24 hours or more for each test. I like to run the Memtest86+ for at least 5 complete test passes, or 24 hours, whichever is longer.
The CPU stress test, this is a very personal preference, a new system I run for several hours, a failing system I run much longer. You are looking for heat saturation as well during this kind of test.
I really wish you the best of luck and hope all your data is recoverable.
