Datto 07 lan problem

Hi everyone, I’m new to TrueNAS.

I currently have a Zyxel 540 NAS that I’d like to replace with the one I’m building with this hardware:

Gigabyte MB10 Datto 07 motherboard (2016 F1 BIOS)

2 x 16GB DDR4 ECC 2133MHz

PCI SAS12GPS card

6 x 8TB 3.5" HP SAS

64GB SATA3 Ocz SSD for TrueNAS

I installed TrueNAS Scale via USB stick. However, I’m having problems with the network cards. I can’t configure them. I can see them in the BIOS, and TruNAS seems to see them too, but nothing. The card has three network cards, two of which are 10GB (I’d like to use one of those).

Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice.

What exactly do you mean by this? Do you not see a network option in the truenas console? Also, post the output of ip a (call it from the shell).

Exactly, when I get to the choices with the numbers 1 through 9, I don’t see the network address at the top.
I think it’s something to set in the motherboard BIOS, but I don’t know what…

Do you have the NICs connected to a network with DHCP? What network cards do you have. What info is on the network screen? Option 1?

Indeed, have you connected the TrueNAS server to your network using a network cable?

Is the network port chosen set to use DHCP and is there a router on your network set to act as a DHCP server (very likely) but I rather not assume anything.

Only a single port can be set to DHCP and you haven’t really said anything about how yours is configured. You say you can’t configure the network cards but you neglect to say what you have tried and what happens when you do.

What about ip a?

I apologize for the incomplete information.

The form is as follows: MB10-DATTO-O7
Onboard (soldered) it has two 10GB Intel X557AT2 LAN ports.

  • Network cable connected
  • Network works, all other PCs and peripherals work
  • DHCP is enabled, but I also tried with a fixed IP address.
  • The card has a third 1GB network card, it works, and I can see the card from the network.
  • I can’t see anything from True NAS.

I think I have some settings disabled in the BIOS, because the lights on the 10GB cards remain off even with the cable connected.

Tomorrow I’ll try reconnecting and take some photos.
