Hey! So after doing a lot of research I got mixed opinions and hoping that some of you can set it straight for me.
My first TrueNAS Core based on the HPNL40 server failed (no video output and does not show up anymore). I had 4x 4TB Ironwolf SATA drives in a 16TB pool with an SSD boost drive for TrueNAS.
I am thinking about picking up an old server for under 200 euros and the Dell T410 and T710 seems to be quite readily available here for a 100 - 150 euros. Seems to support 8 Drives so has good future upgradeability.
Would any of those systems work with TrueNAS Core well and let me use 4TB or bigger drives?
I understand so far that I have to get the Dell H200 Prec card and set it in IT Mode.
Any details and insight for a noob would be appreciated.
