Hi, I’d would like to upgrade a Dell Poweredge R610 to run Truenas.
I understand that the raid needs to be removed and wondering if anyone has done anything similar. Only reason to keeping the 1U configuration is will be used at a hosting provider where I only have a 1U slot for it.
I’d like to install 4 20 TB drives.
I’m ok with replacing system parts , mb, cpu, memory etc to make this work.
All suggestions appreciated.

Do you have a detailed hardware listing? Is it the same as factory shipped? Use service tag on Dell to get listing. Need to find out current controller and if it can be used with no RAID as a HBA.

341-8756 : RAID 5 for H700 or PERC 6/i Controllers
Download the server documents and try to sort out if you can only take 2.5 drives. Can you get those in 20TB capacity? I think the PERC card can be swapped out.
