I just updated the emby app and it was 4.8.11.0 but now it has switched to the beta version 4.9.1.0
All previous updates have been the release versions
Up until now, Emby was using a versioning scheme that when the 3rd digit was a 0
, it meant it was a beta
release. (This was pointed out by another user couple years back).
It seems that this is not longer the case, or 4.9.1.0 is a stable
release, but Emby didn’t marked it as such in their release channels.
If you can find me a description of their versioning scheme, I can try to update the bot to skip non-stable releases. I was unable to find such description.
I usually refer to this releases page
Oh… so like TrueNAS
ooooooh, uncalled for! (but not entirely untrue either)
Sadly docker tags does not have an equivalent of stable/beta unless they have such suffix.
So automations can’t detect the difference.
Does the automation have access to any other information or is it strictly version number?
So “Luke” on the Emby forums was less than helpful:
OK that’s unfortunate, but it shouldn’t be too long until there is an actual 4.9 stable release.
Hopefully the next version is > 4.9.1.0 so it doesn’t mess up the docker bot
Yes it’s beta.
I tried a rollback, but then emby doesn’t work anymore.
The switch to beta did change some emby internal database fields.
Unfortunately I have now some high cpu usage which wasn’t there before.
Thats SOP for Emby, once your on a beta, there is no way out until the next stable version
