I’m running TrueNAS Core (version TrueNAS-13.0-U6.7) on a system with a Supermicro X8SIL motherboard and a brand-new Corsair RM650e PSU. The previous PSU died (system has been in use since 2018). Since replacing the PSU, about a few weeks later I’m receiving repeated IPMI voltage alerts for the -12 V rail, showing erratic readings of 1.87 V and -47.60 V with the following errors. The system is stable and running fine though. Here are the errors:
- Voltage -12 V Deasserted Lower Non-recoverable going low: Reading 1.87 < Threshold -13.84 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Deasserted Lower Critical going low: Reading 1.87 < Threshold -13.65 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Deasserted Lower Non-critical going low: Reading 1.87 < Threshold -13.46 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Asserted Upper Non-critical going high: Reading 1.87 > Threshold -10.93 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Asserted Upper Critical going high: Reading 1.87 > Threshold -10.74 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Asserted Upper Non-recoverable going high: Reading 1.87 > Threshold -10.55 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Deasserted Upper Non-recoverable going high: Reading -47.60 > Threshold -10.55 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Deasserted Upper Critical going high: Reading -47.60 > Threshold -10.74 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Deasserted Upper Non-critical going high: Reading -47.60 > Threshold -10.93 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Asserted Lower Non-critical going low: Reading -47.60 < Threshold -13.46 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Asserted Lower Critical going low: Reading -47.60 < Threshold -13.65 Volts
- Voltage -12 V Asserted Lower Non-recoverable going low: Reading -47.60 < Threshold -13.84 Volts
System Details:
- Motherboard: Supermicro X8SIL
- PSU: Corsair RM650e (brand new)
- CPU: Intel Core i5-680
- RAM: 16GB DDR3 ECC
- Add-ons: No addons, everything is connected to the motherboard.
Despite these alerts, the system is stable with no crashes, reboots, or performance issues. I have checked all power connections and everything is secured.
