Existing photo libraries best way to import in Immich (own+Google)

I have a Dataset of my personal files (Documents and Pictures) with snapshots /replication etc separate from my media/installs/Drive Images etc

I’ve mapped this as A: in Windows on my PCs (I don’t own any floppy discs drives) - so I can preserve as many drives letters as possible

What I want to do is enable Immich to catalogue everything in

A:\pictures which is /mnt/Vault/Documents/pictures

At present my Google Photos aren’t in this & I’m looking to migrate them over and combine them - I found GitHub - garzj/google-photos-migrate: A tool to fix EXIF data and recover filenames from a Google Photos takeout, preserving albums within the directory structure.

The question what’s the best way to do this? I don’t really want to have /mnt/Vault/Documents/pictures as an external library given that it’s on the same system - though this might be the best option?

I think you might want to check out Immich-go. I have used it to successfully import Google takeouts a few times. It was quite easy to use.

The read-me seems to suggest that you can also use it to import the other photos your have in your photo directory.

Upload Collections: You can upload photos directly from your computer folders, folder trees, and compressed ZIP archives.

I haven’t used it for this though
