Hi all
I’m a noob when it comes to NAS and Truenas. I’ve recently built my first NAS and I’m attempting to add more storage
I initially had 3 2tb drives in a raidz1 setup, giving me 4tb (3.5tb) to work with. Awesome. I’ve now added another 2tb drives via the Extend button.
The new drive has been added, however my storage space has not changed. No additional space.
Am I missing something?
Please help

Raidz expansion takes time and as far as I’ve seen progress is not displayed in the gui.
You’d have to check from shell with
sudo zpool status -v how far the expansion has progressed. And note that there is a space reporting bug with expansion

I’m unable to check via the shell
After inputting the command, the admin password is requested. Then my keystrokes are not doing anything. I’m no longer able to type into the shell

typing in the password is hidden in the shell… it types but won’t be shown

Okay, so couple things
1: Thanks a lot, all your help checks out. Legend
2: 0 visual feedback when typing password is confusing to first timers, there must be a better way
3: I have 3 more days to go regarding the expansion but at least it’s happening
Thanks again

Just a heads up, your 4gb ram are well below the recommended 8gb, and even the is only for basic file sharing. You should think about upgrading to 8-16gb of ram
