Forced to restart TrueNAS

Hello,

I don’t know why, but for the past few days, TrueNAS Scale has been bugging me, and as a result, I can’t use NextCloud or Immich.

When I try to connect to NextCloud or Immich, it goes round in circles, so I try to go to my TrueNAS dashboard, but I can’t connect there either. I have to shut down my NAS and then restart it.

My internet connection is working fine, though. What’s strange is that I have a VM with Home Assistant on it, which is working.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Nobody have this problem ?

Could be a hardware related problem like the ilde power problems with 1st and 2nd gen ryzen cpus which leads to lockups, but since you did not provide enough information, especially your hardware configuration, it’s pretty much impossible to help you…

Hi,

Yes you right. Here my specs :

  • MSI H610M-G DDR4 mainboard
  • Intel i3 13100
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8Go CMK16GX4M2B3200C16
  • SSD NVME Samsung 256Go
  • 2 HDD 2To : ST2000VN004-2E4164 / ST2000NM0008-2F3100
  • 1 HDD 1To
  • 1 SSD NVME 128Go fo Home Assistant
  • be quiet! SFX Power 3 300W 80PLUS
  • Everything is in a Jonsbo N4

I installed all of this in April, but I didn’t have any problems. Since the last update, I feel like I’ve been having these issues.

Thanks

My absolute first guess would be that either your power supply has not enough power or is failing or because of the sff the system is overheating…

Okay, so I need to buy a more powerful one. No problem there, but why is it crashing now and not before?

I just restarted TrueNAS and now I’m getting this message: Failed to start docker for Applications: Docker service could not be started.

Could this be related?

I did not say that it is the psu for sure, just that it’s the first thing that comes to my mind.

Only one way to find out. Unset the apps pool and disable the apps system, wait and see if it locks up. if yes then it’s related, if no it’s a different issue…

It would be strange if the system started up, worked for a few days sometimes, then crashed for no apparent reason, especially since my VM with Home Assistant is still working.

Won’t this delete my NextCloud and Immich data?

EDIT : I restart TrueNAS, and Docker start
