Get NextCloud and Immich to manage the same folder at the same time?

So I installed NextCloud on my TrueNAS Scale some time ago, however, in the meantime I learned about Immich, and it looks like it is Immich that I wanted all along (instead of NextCloud). Now, I did put a lot of work into NextCloud, and I do not really want to ditch all that: transferring all that data to Immich looks like a grueling chore. So here’s the big question:

Is there a way that I can install Immich as well and get it to manage the same storage folder that NextCloud manages without screwing up NextCloud? (I guess you could call this “integrate NextCloud and Immich” …)

I would say that is pretty unlikely and is not going to be supported by either system. Moving photos and videos to Immich is super easy and just takes the upload time (or transfer from dataset to dataset). Not sure what the complexity is here. I setup and used Nexcloud and it took less than a day?

Here’s a tutorial of sorts, that claims that the (or some) integration can be done, although I am not clear about the details–the “as external files” bit, in particular.
