Getting Started with NVMe over TCP

NVMe-oF for Truenas is over TCP. There are other protocols but TCP seems to be the most common. NVMe-oF is an updated protocol to replace iSCSI allowing more parallel connections for NVMe based storage. You do not need NVMe storage & can use it with traditional hdd/sdd storage. Recommended for 10G or faster network connections. I’ve not tried, but you can attempt to install the nvme-cli for proxmox via terminal. I use NVMe-oF primarily in Ubuntu 26.04 LTS for vm’s and pc games.
