I know not everyone agrees, but I have to focus on what makes me happy. Good riddance to kubernetes! I want to open my window and shout out my joy to the world. The very last thing I hated and dreaded dealing with in my 2 nas-es is gone and they are beautiful and perfect now.
I feared each time app updated pre-EE. Truecharts app updated? Straight to panic attack. Apps sluggish. Now? I gained my cpu cycles wasted by k8 which are consumed even if zero pods are deployed back \o/ Everything is so much snappier and faster I feel like I downloaded new hw as well. Jellyfin with ~40 thousands media files over 1G nfs share starts in under minute and the ui is so snappy I just keep reloading the homepage and giggling how much faster it is compared to the k8 version of the app on the same hw. Apps are in docker which I love and understand.
Just overall a marvellous job done by everyone involved and a heartfelt ‘Thank you!’ from this amateur homelab enthusiast. I’ve not been happier with using Truenas SCALE since its inception than I am now.
