"Hosts Allow/Deny" Fields in "Edit SMB" config screen locked out for editing

Running ElectricEel-24.10.2 on Intel N100 hardware. Works great except I’m unable to limit host accessibility to SMB shares using the “Hosts Allow” and “Hosts Deny” config options as these fields appear to be locked out for editing.
(Shares > Windows (SMB) Shares > Edit > Advanced Options)

When attempting to edit these fields, I’m logged in as a User with the following Roles:

 Has Allow List
 Sharing Admin
 Full Admin

I noted that the “Edit User” screen for this login has “SMB User” un-checked. Not sure if this is required but attempts to Check this box also failed.

Not really familiar with UNIX style Built-In Groups and their allowable abilities or ACLs so I’m guessing I may need help in these areas. Don’t know at this point. Thanks so much for any help with this.

You’d have to change the Share Purpose to no presets to edit those grayed out fields.

The SMB user checkbox being unselected means that your logged in user will not be able to authenticate for remote access to the share. You may need to log in as a user with higher admin privileges if you’re unable to change it, or just access the share with a different user.

“Share Purpose” setting was the problem. Thanks very much!
