Friend of mine works in IT and got a hold of a “xtreme power conversion” UPS after an upgrade they where doing. so he is giving it to me for my Home server.
so i am wondering how do i set this up? I had a APC UPS working but its not big enough to run my TrueNAS server i’m not seeing anything in the driver drop down menu for xtreme power conversion am i SOL for this and just keep an eye out for an APC unit?
TrueNAS comes with nut built in, however, I don’t see any Xtreme UPS’s in the list of known compatible units.
Perhaps it uses a generic protocol that “just works” with a generic nut driver, perhaps not.
Attach a USB cable and see what happens I guess (nut-scanner may find something).
This guide helped me set up my ups

Add sudo infront of that nut-scanner command in step 2.
SWEET i just got the Xtreme Power Conversion UPS installed and it works i did a simulated power loss with a 10 sec count down and it did a gracefully shut down…
Thanks for the help!
