I have a xeon processor , 6tb hard drive and 160 hdd for true nas installation.
I have been able to boot from usb and install true nas on my 160 hdd on my server but now i can not boot from the 160 drive i installed the truenas no , i do not have option to select my own boot drive. I made some customization from the bios to get it done and i saw booting from c drive but i do not even no where the c drive is on my hp proliant ml350p gen 8.
in my boot controller order i have
PCI 1 Sata boot order
smart p450i boot order
PCI 2 Sata boot order
I managed to install Truenas Scale by putting my raid card into HBA mode and i m able to boot form hard drive, now when i create a pool i only see 1tb x 11 , i m suppose to get 1tb each. When i go Disks i m able to see my disk individually but at the pool section i m not able to create pool seeing each disk.
HBA mode isn’t the same as flashing a card to IT mode. What card is currently in your server? You should be able to use a command like sas2flash, sas3flash, storcli or lspci to list what is there. The model will determine if it can be flashed to IT mode or we would recommend buying a different card.
