i just got my hand on a Intel Arc Pro B50, lspci is correctly showing the card but when i run lsgpu it is only showing my igpu does anyone know how to get it working as i would love to have this for transcoding and also for immich facial recoginition and frigate
B series is not yet supported
The xe driver should be there but the B50 might be too new to get picked up by the revision of the driver that’s in your current build. What does lspci -k show for the bound driver @rpeng6 ?
thank you for the reply do you have any idea when this could be supported, as the B50 is small form factor, 16G of VRAM and 75watts which is ideal for transcoding and other GPU task.
thank you for the response unfortunately i have already uninstalled it from my truenas system and have it on my ESXI homelab for testing, will install it back and let you know on the result
As TrueNAS is based on Debian and a stable but not very cutting edge kernel, support for hardware that was just released a few days ago will seldomly be there.
Even the upcoming TrueNAS 25.10 is still on kernel 6.12 and I don’t think that backporting new GPU drivers is a priority for a NAS operating system (even though many users use it for media streaming and transcoding).
If you want to use this card in your TrueNAS machine in the next few months I’d suggest passing it through to a virtual machine that’s running something with a more modern kernel (at least Ubuntu with HWE, probably rather something Arch-based) - probably similar to what you’re doing on your ESXi machine now.
full reasonable but still hope this could be enabled soon as alot of the user is not using truenas purly for NAS and it hard to come about with a low profile, watts and high VRAM gpu
