Are you using CORE or SCALE? Which version?
Can you confirm which card you have?

My real recommendation would be to use something that just works out of the box. People have better luck with RTL8125 (and 2.5GbE cards in general) in SCALE. I’d try booting with the latest SCALE and seeing if it Just Works.

On CORE it might be as simple as forcing the alternate driver to load:

System → Tunables → Add

Variable: if_re_load
Value: yes
Type: loader

Variable: if_re_name
Value: /boot/modules/if_re.ko
Type: loader

I am using TrueNAS CORE 13.0-U6.3, the NIC card is the Intel Killer E3100 from the Ashrock 690 pg riptide.

I will first try with Scale.

I replaced my AM4 server grade components with AM5 desktop parts and Core would not boot all the way … would lock up after an AMD something something line would pop up… so I inadvertently forced myself to upgrade to SCALE a bit sooner than I was anticipating

I just installed Scale and everything works right away so this is the way to go for me.
