Intel RES2CV240 expander flash rom completely erased can it be rescued?

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to flash an Intel RES2SV240 SAS/Raid expander that has had the flash memory completely erased and has no SAS address or if it’s even possible?
I was in the process of upgrading the firmware from version 11 to version 13 and stupidly decided to poke around with the commands and ended up erasing the firmware from the expander.

Now when i run the command ./xflash -i get avail the output that is returned is:

Initializing Interface.**** Xtools is unable to get Expanders detail FAILED****

IAL or HAL API failed.
Failed to Initialize Communication!

Trying to flash the firmware again with the sas address
“./xflash -i 5001E6746466BFFF down fw sas2xfwBasic.fw 0 -y” returns

Initializing Interface.
SCSI device is not ENCLOSURE type

Sas address 5001e6746466bfff is not attached to the HOST machine **** FAILED ****

In hindsight I should have waited until I wasn’t sick, tired and foggy brained.

I’ve searched online for a way to possibly rescue it but haven’t found anything and I’m starting to think it’s a candidate for the e-waste bin.

I’m not too fussed if it’s not possible to flash it from a blank state. I can always buy another and at the moment running 8 drives connected to the HBA and 4 to the motherboard sata ports hasn’t presented any issues. I guess if it is possible I would want to do it for the experience more than anything.

If anyone knows how to flash the card with no sas address or when I can find instructions and files to do so I’d be grateful if they would be able to give me instructions or point me in the right direction for the instructions and files.

Thanks,

Grace
