Issue with active directory

I have a test environment where I reinstalled 25.10 and import back my settings (and I also had to destroy and recreate the main pool).

When I go to the Active Directory settings, it is reported as disabled. If I try to enable it, I cannot save, the button is not active. I guess something went wrong while importing back the settings.

Instead of trying to solve it, I would like to destroy the settings and join again the domain, but I failed to find a way to do it as there is no button to leave/remove the domain settings. I tried a command line “midclt call directoryservices.leave” but I am missing the correct parameters.

I tried to upgrade to 26.04 but no change.

Thanks for your advises.

could also be the known bug with AD in 25.10 , see

I saw that thread but it was not really helpful to delete the active directory. I will reinstall 25.04.2.4 to see if it helps. I have also an issue with 25.10 with another computer, it worth to do try it too.

I will let you know

I confirm I downgrade to 25.04.2.4 and I was able to disable Active Directory and enable it back again (I have no idea where the credentials were stored but it asked me nothing).

I also discovered that recreating the pool worked in my environment, with the 25.10, I had to unplug one of the boot drives because they were detected with the same serial, 25.04 does not seem to have this test and so it worked better (once again, in my environment where the boot drives are external USB disks with a cheap adapter so not surprising that the serial failed to load “00000000”).

25.10 does not seem to be mature enough and I do not know about 26 how far it is moving on.

Hope my tests will help

Well 26.04 will come out in april (04) of 2026 (26). Truenas is on a 6 month release cycle for major versions. There will be minor version updates for 25.10 that will fix issues until then.
