That was the option I was considering.
And hypothetically, if LXC does become part of the base OS I think a Jailmaker-to-LXC script could be developed relatively easily.
It’s basically just a config-to-yaml conversion.

I’m running EE right now on my NVMe server. I only use this file server as a backup to my spinning rust server and for development work. I do nothing fancy with it. This allows me to become more familiar with the GUI. But I’ve been running both CORE and SCALE and I use the same pool.
I created the pool using FreeNAS 12.x and I could have used TrueNAS 13.0 as well but now I can also migrate back to FreeNAS 12 if needed (I did need to once). I actually downloaded an old copy just to create the pool. I have not and will not update any feature flags and that allows me to migrate the pool between FreeNAS 12, CORE, and SCALE. No jails, VM’s, apps of any kind, YET. Once I do that, I will be fairly well locked down to one version.

So… the Jonsbo delivery got delayed again. From late August to early September to late September.
I’m not amused, maybe EE will release before I can actually run this system.

But seriously, it’s too bad it’s taking this long. I hope the new case is everything you want it to be.
That really sucks and I can relate to those disappointments. Hopefully this doesn’t become a Christmas Gift to yourself.

The case finally arrived! Burning in the HDD, will start writing the report soon. Is there anything in particular you want me to test?
