Locked out of my NAS

I’m not sure what happened. I think I used like a anti virus and it cleared some saved cache with my password and stuff saved.

I have my user name written down but I try and now sign it manually and it won’t let me sign in.

Maybe I’m just doing something wrong.

I put the IP address in, and I’m met with a login screen. Normally I just put the address in and it goes directly to the nas files.

Are you talking about the web UI or files shared on your network?

Normally I just open my documents and it goes directly to the nas where the files are. But now I’m met with a login screen and when I enter the user name and password it says I’m putting in the wrong password or username.

I also noticed the IP address for the NAS has changed. I also found the password and username that was saved for the login in my browser and it doesn’t take those either.

Well, not sure why but I was able to get into the files at least. Not sure why I can’t log into the web UI with the root username and password. It’s a little bit worrying that if something goes wrong I can’t get fix any issues.

Update… I typed in the password like 60 times and it finally worked… not sure why… it worked now after I typed the same password in 59 other times

Your description is a little vague, but from the changing IP could be because your DHCP server on your network gave your NAS a new IP for some reason.

  1. Do you have more than one NIC on the TrueNAS server?
  2. Do you not have a static IP on the NAS? (Maybe you should set a static IP)

Ticket closed, user found their own solution.
