Yay! I’m on TV My topic in memes. Still has zero replies, though…
Must be perfect then - just make sure your case is a Faraday cage!
With all the recent (ie; ongoing) MEMTest failures on various posts, I suggest we recommend new users to start making EMI shielding for their dimms - it also doubles as a heat shield & a way to make sure short circuit detection is working properly on your PSU!
I know all of the vets have been doing this for years, but it is time we stopped hiding these secret techniques from the newbies.
With less than a few cents of aluminum foil, think of all the data we can save!
Edit:
What to expect if short circuit detection isn't working on your PSU with this method
This place feels so welcoming, doesn’t it?
While I saw some discussion about it recently, I don’t understand how that is related to my topic.
EDIT: I think I got it. Perhaps you assumed that my topic was about truenas instance hardware.
It’s an inside joke of an inside joke. ![]()
Oh sorry man, was a more of a joke since we on the memes page. Generally not recomended to take anything on this particular post seriously.
On an actual serious note, I did check your post & I actually had nothing constructive to provide so I simply didn’t reply. If I saw an obvious fault I actually would point it out and try to help.
It ain’t my intention to give you a hard time or put you or your requestion for validation down.
Edit:
I mean, this specific place is the memes page - otherwise the forum as a whole really does its best to help. Definitions of ‘best’ and ‘help’ may be subjective
the best bit of that video is that the only reason the fun fireworks stop is because it gets hot enough to desolder the supply lead. Put a peg or something on it so memtest at least has a chance to finish one run ![]()

we all know is not intentional but that was a perfect setup
All this talk of bugs makes me think of Aliens:
Private Hudson: Is this gonna be a standup fight, sir, or another bug hunt?
I rather wonder: Do you want to know MORE?
