hey everyone, I’m new to truenas, and recently I had a drive failure. i had a hot spare in the system and after a resilver my VDEV layout looks really weird and is still in a state of Degraded. I’m not really sure how to get this back to normal or how much data I’ve lost. any help would be great. I’ve attached some images of what my vdev looks like.
What model of hard drives do you have? They should all be verified to be CMR and not SMR technology for recording. Is a 3x Raid-Z1 pool what you had set up? Have you powered off and checked and reseated the cables? How are the drives attached, direct to motherboard?
they are all ST20000NT001-3PT101 drives. yes its (3) RAIDZ1 pool (gonna add a 4th soon) they connect to an HBA card.
I’ve already gone through the resilvering process with a replacement drive. I’m more concerned with why there are 2 spare drives in the VDEV and its still in a degraded state?
ill have to find some time to completely shut down the machine and check cables and such.
