I have been setup the Truenas scale. set up the datapool and windows SMB share.
I can access both the Truenas /UI page by typing teh ip address from my browser.
I can acess Truenas datapool with the created user name and password from windows 11 in the same local network. I can see "Truenas"under the network tab of my windows file explorer. when I click in, with my user login password and everything working.
At this point, I think my setup is working.
Then I setup a OpenVPN "server only"on my router, i.e. Omada ER605. With the VPN, I can do the same with remote VPN clients; i.e.- my iphone and Windows PC in my office; by using the local ip address.
Now, I would like to try and play with port forwarding and not using OpenVPN i.e- just to experience is there any speed difference
After setting the port forwarding with the router. With OpenVPN off. I can access the Truenas /UI page from my browser by typing the public ip address.
So at this point, I assume my router setting for port forwarding is working.
But now, no matter what I do. Its seems I could not get into the user log in page for accessing my storage.
Anyone can enlight me what should I do or missed?
Do I need special little apps for that? or i just need teh command in correct syntax?
