NIC assistance

Sorry for the dumb question, I’m a noob to TrueNAS and Linux in general. I have a NIC that I installed that is a 2.5 GbE NIC that uses an Intel I226-V chip. When I run a command that I just found in another post(sudo ethtool), 2.5 shows up as supported but it is only running at 1Gb. What do I need to do now to get it to run at 2.5?

I would add a screenshot of the shell command but I am getting a message “An error occurred: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.” when I try to attach it to this post

Is your switch or the other PC your nas is connected to also running 2.5G? If the device on the other end can only run at 1G it’s normal that your nic auto negotiated to it

You were totally correct. I just figured that out right after making my post. I have a Pro Max 16 PoE and I had it plugged into one of the 1Gb ports.

I bought 3 different 2.5GbE adapters thinking I kept buying ones that are unsupported and I don’t know how many of them are compatible now. I have been an IT professional for over 20 years and I just made that stupid mistake
