[No longer applicable] [25.10] Shutdown reason "Energy saving"

I’d like to see a direct menu item “Energy saving” in the shutdown reasons.

I’m probably not the only one by now that uses their previous Truenas machine for the replication of the valuable data on the current machine. And since electricity is not so cheap these days I normally turn on the system in the evening, let the replication task, scrub and smart tests run during the night and shut it down in the morning.

Now with 25.04 you need to specify a reason for shutting down. And nothing readily available fits. Sure, you can select custom reason. But then you have to add text manually.

This is actually one of those “I suspect” are super easy to add this change so it may be incorporated.

The “Shutdown reason” dialog is actually gone completely in TrueNAS Community Edition 25.10 - so we’ll be closing this as “no longer applicable” to release the votes. :slight_smile:
