Impact
Many users a look for a privacy focused back-up option besides their local NAS.
User Story
There are already custom scripts prosible that rely on rclone, but now there is official linux support by the proton team. as described in their blogpost “Introducing Proton Drive CLI: Use Drive from your terminal“
Existing work arounds using rclone.
rclone is currently the most used workaround, but it relatively error prone and involves alot of terminal configuration, as described in thread #31121 on this forum.

First of all, Welcome to the Forums.
While this feature request may eventually be approved, provided there is enough support for it, the faster solution (it would take likely a year to get this feature added, keep in mind that they cater to Corporations and must validate the changes they make, and it is not a fast thing) currently is if you create a “Container” in TrueNAS and install Proton Drive there. Get it working, then post exactly the steps to replicate your work in getting this to operational. Once that is all done, then maybe create a Docker version (or just do the Docker). If there is enough interest, TrueNAS may adopt putting the Docker into their APP list as a supported app.
If you decide to wait for TrueNAS to adopt Proton Drive, you may be waiting a very long time.
I will say, Proton Drive does sound pretty nice, like a few other options out there. Since my important data would fit in a 1GB storage solution, the Free plan looks nice, if it remains free.
