Plex app and Intel Arc GPU

Running TrueNAS Scale with latest update Dragonfish-24.04.2 (I thought this update was supposed to include support for Intel Arc in apps), when attempting to use my Intel Arc A130 for hardware transcoding, Plex continues to use CPU. I have selected the Arc GPU within Plex and ticked the “use hardware transcoding” box. Everything seems to be set up correctly, however any transcoding that is done is through the CPU and lacks the “hw” tag in the Plex Dashboard.

GPU works in plex on another old server I have, I cannot disable iGPU in the BIOS, and I do not feel like having a VM souly for the purpose of running Plex Media Server. Pls help, I am relatively new to TrueNAS/Linux but am ready to learn. Thank you for any suggestions/help.

I run an AM5 setup with an Sparkle ARC A380 under latest Dragonfish using the TrueCharts Plex app and it’s transcoding just fine

There was an option to add the GPU in the setup of the APP so Plex see the GPU and uses it
However you have Plex installed, it’s just a matter of getting the GPU passed thru to whatever you are running Plex in …

Plex sees the GPU, like I said I have the GPU selected in the transcoding settings in Plex. But is is still using the CPU. I did add the GPU during the setup of the app. It just isnt working.

I have an intel core i5-8500 in an old optiplex, in the app setup for plex when selecting the allocated GPU I do not see a way to NOT include the iGPU (since its the options are just “intel GPU resources 0-10”). In Plex it always has the option to use either, when I select the Arc a130 it just ignores that selection and uses CPU.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I’m having the exact same issue.
