Before I finalize my plex and start processing everything I just wanted to ask the community if this is the proper way to set permissions for plex?
I am not sure that you need to create a user.
I think all you have to do is create the dataset with the apps preset from the drop-down. Then you install Plex referencing those datasets.
I think user 1000 might already be created. In the user or group page if you click show built in users (or groups) you can check to make sure it is there. Also it is possible that it now uses the apps user which is 568 not 1000.
I connected the dataset during the plex installation but I can’t see it inside the plex app unless I did what was described in the above video. I.was just wondering if this is the proper way or kinda hacky.
