Hello all, I have just set up my Plex on my TrueNAS Scale for the first time, I follow the youtube from John Kinder for “Installing Plex on truenas and…” carefully on the setup but once i was got to the Plex Web UI, i don’t see any movies. I wonder where did I go wrong.
Later in the video he did mention about FileBrowser app, I try that but I gotten permission error.
Filebrowser is just an app to browse your files from a webbrowser.
If you don’t see your mounted media in plex it’s most likely a permission issue.
On the right side of the apps tab if you’ve selected plex should be a small window labeled “run as context”
That window will tell you which user is used to run the app. My guess will be 568 “apps” because that’s what most apps use.
Make sure that system user is added to your dataset acls and has the correct permissions and to apply those permissions recursively.
