About 1.25 hr into a scrub I received the following alert;
but all the disks seem to be online without errors
The dashboard gives an icon saying the pool is not healthy but no other info
Is this a blip I’ll probably be able to ignore, or something I should be concerned about getting ready to replace a disk? What should I look for after the scrub? … or now.
This is not a blip. It is telling you that there is a ZFS issue, not necessarily a drive issue.
If you want a little help you really need to provide some information on your system. I don’t understand why people think clairvoyance is alive on this forum. Feel free to read Joes Rules, linked in my signature. This explains some of the things we may require to provide assistance.
Also the output of zpool status -v
This is just the start and more will come after the data has been provided.
I don’t expect anyone to be clairvoyant. I was just asking what the next step should be as there is no indication in the UI, and I don’t know what I would google for.
I don’t know why some people on this forum expect that users of a UI-based NAS OS would have a deep understanding of the Linux command line and error log files.
Honestly, it is not that we expect anyone to have a high level of Linux experience, although it would be nice, but we do expect them to read some of the forum postings and notice there is a trend to asking for data so we can help them. You have been a member for a while now so I would have expected this.
Sorry I came off sounding harsh. It was not you, it was definitely me.
Anyway, please read Joes Rules, it will help you in what data we need for specific problems. And provide the output of the requested command.
As for Google Searches, what I use is "truenas " plus the error message. In your case “truenas critical pool state online” and then see what turns up. You may need to do some reading but it can be very helpful before posting a question.
