Hey. System is in my signature. I suspect one of the HBA’s or possibly a cable is starting to fail as I’m seeing errors across multiple disks in the 16TB pool only during scrubs so looking to upgrade both to freshen up the system a bit and hopefully fix the problem. The disks are only a couple of months old and all were tested before adding into the pool.
Looks like the recommended direct replacement would now be an LSI9300/9305-8i (and would need new cables anyway). But have also seen there is an LSI9300/9305-16i which considering I have 16 drives in total seems like a better choice ?
Just not sure if there are any caveats that I’m not thinking about. Only ones I could think of is whether my system can handle that card on one slot and possibly higher temperatures so it might need additional cooling compared to 2x 8i’s ?
Any help/suggestions appreciated.
