Replacing oversized drive in vdev

Quick question – If I expand a 5x18TB vdev with a 20TB drive, can I later swap that 20TB for an 18TB (same manufacturer and type of existing 5)? Since ZFS only uses 18TB of the larger drive, will it block the 18TB replacement for being smaller than the physical disk it’s replacing?

I believe I’m fine here, as I think the size restrictions are based on used capacity, which will match to the other drives in vdev. Not the actual outgoing drive size. But want to make sure.

As long as the 18TB replacement is the same size or larger, as your current, smallest drive in the pool, you can do another replacement.

Awesome, thanks.
