i tried scale too but i disliked that you could’t set a specific ip for the mineos app. because i use it as a public server… i tried a vm today with freebsd it worked but im not amazed by inefficient it runs while beeing in a vm. i loved when i had it on a jail. i should newer have done a fresh install…
i mean, if you use it as a public server better have it on a dedicated vm so you can manage it more easilly, i tried mineos on a dedicated wm and it didnt work for me, in the end i went to ubuntu server and did it manually. works well, keeps resources to the bare minimum and its easy to manage with proxmox gui
but did you ever manage to get i runing in a jail in truenas again?
yes, I manually launched the script made by Victor and it worked in a jail after updating to 13.3 beta. but mineos is glitches and doesn’t let me set the jar file even after manually updating the Java version from terminal. then I got frustrated and ditched mine os in a jail to find the same issue when installing mine os on a separate vm. so the issue wasn’t in the script but in mine os itself. or maybe I’m just bad and couldn’t figure out a way to make it work
For those having problems.
This script works just fine in a 14.x jail. I don’t know why, but on TrueNAS in a 13.4 jail you can do this.
Run script.
It will stall.
Restart the jail.
Run script again.
Profit.
