I’ve read through the “Managing Self Encrypting Drives” document and have a question about setting a Global SED Password.
I ran the scan to verify my two 6TB HGST HDDs were SED, which they are (show an ‘E’). But my NVMe boot drive also shows up with a ‘2’ (Opal v2).
My question, is if I set a Global SED Password, will that cause a problem when it (presumably) encrypts the boot drive?
I was unable to find any more info specifically relating to a boot drive with SED.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
