SOLVED:
Having my PC connected to my TailNet was blocking connections on my local network for some reason; my guess is that connecting to my TailNet somehow was forcing all outgoing traffic from my PC through the TailNet. I’m not sure what setting in TailScale got changed on the reboot that forced all traffic through the TailNet but turning it off allowed my PC to access TrueNAS locally.
My 9 month old son hit the power button on my PC, and I suddenly am unable to access my TrueNAS server on my local network.
I can still access the admin panel via tailscale so I know there’s nothing wrong with the server itself. Both my PC and the server are on the same subnet (PC IP: 192.168.1.77, TrueNAS 192.168.1.174), and I have my windows network settings set to private. I can ping the server from my pc via tailscale and visa versa, but I can’t make a direct connection over my local network.
i am also able to access my server by that local IP on all my other devices on the local network, so I know something broke on my PC during that unscheduled reboot
I have since rebooted both my PC and the server multiple times, reset my network settings on the PC, and deleted network credentials. What the heck could have changed since my son hit that power button?
