Hello, i am some what new to the TrueNAS community, i am trying to put a cap on 1 of the multiple datasets i have setup in my TrueNAS because 1 of the users has a backup that keeps filling it up so i am looking for a work around while he gets that sorted.

Actually I think you want the below, Dataset Quotas. Not user or group quotas. There is a difference.
Scroll down to the quota section for Dataset Quotas.
As a follow up topic, you can also check out Dataset Reservations. That goes hand in hand with Dataset Quotas, which when both are implemented, makes the Dataset act more like a fixed size disk partition. Reserved space and capped space, yet covered by ZFS’ protections.
