TrueNAS 25.1 - Samsung SM963 MZ-1KW4800 - Abnormal / Negative temperature alerts

Hello everyone!

I’m building my first DIY NAS here on TrueScale CE 25.1 and I’ve encountered a problem, or perhaps a bug: TrueNAS constantly, every 10 minutes or so, issues an alert for my boot SSD, a Samsung SM963 480GB MZ-1KW4800.

The alert text is as follows:

TrueNAS @ XXXXXSERVER2

New alert: Disk /dev/nvme0n1 (with serial: S3F1NX0JA1XXXX) critical temperature threshold is -187 degrees celsius and the current temp is 44 degrees celsius

The following alert has been cleared: Disk /dev/nvme0n1 (with serial: S3F1NX0JA1XXXX) critical temperature threshold is -187 degrees celsius and the current temp is 43 degrees celsius

Current alerts: Disk /dev/nvme0n1 (with serial: S3F1NX0JA1XXXX) critical temperature threshold is -187 degrees celsius and the current temp is 44 degrees celsius

For now, I’ve just disabled sending alerts, but this isn’t a real solution.

Can anyone suggest how to fix this?

TrueNAS 25.10.0 is Now Available!

For anyone who gets an error after updating that your drives have a negative temperature threshold like this: [image] I already reported it in the RC version [NAS-138028] and it should be fixed for 25.10.1 but as far as i’ve seen didn’t make it in todays release.
