On today’s episode of TrueNAS Tech Talk, raise the alert flags - and badges, and modal dialogs - it’s time to start unveiling the UI and UX overhaul work in progress for TrueNAS 26. Today’s focus is the new Alert system, now with greater details, suggested actions, links to the documentation, contextual highlighting, and more! We’ll also take on four (or five, depending on how you count them) more viewer questions.
Love this, thank you!
Next up, some more external alert options would be great, like Gotify or Apprise. Overall though, great changes.
Good episode and thanks for providing some clustered storage closure. It makes sense!
A request for when you decide to focus on reporting. Can you possibly pull in fan speeds on the host? I had a great api pull working into a home assistant dashboard but haven’t been able to replicate the same since transitioning to websocket.
Just updated a virtualized TrueNAS instance to 26 and had a read error on the boot pool afterwards - this does cause an error badge to show up on the storage part of the interface and this is also where the alert will take you. I think there needs to be a special treatment of boot pool issues where alerts should take you to the system → boot → boot pool status page and the alarm badge on the sidebar should also go to the system tab imho.
