Kris and Chris are back, after a busy November, just in time to detail the key features coming up in the first point release for “Goldeye” - TrueNAS 25.10.1 - already at over 55,000 installs. They’ll also talk about the new Valve hardware announcements, and what this could mean for the adoption of Linux on the desktop, as well as better support for x86-on-ARM translation. And in honor of Valve acknowledging the existence of the number 3, they’ll take a trio of viewer questions. All this and more today on T3.
Are the guys on the thumbnail on the wrong side? This is what happens if your break is too long ![]()
We do jump around in thumbnails, but except for that one time we’ve tried to stay on the same side for the actual video ![]()
That good to hear. I thought I was going have book some therapy sessions in, lol.
Would be great to have a “Update profile” that get access to these beta releases without going directly to the version 26!
For stuff that’s still at the nightly, actively-developed-and-likely-to-break level - like 26.04 is right now - we still want it to be a very deliberate and manual step to go there; hence the need to drop the manual .update package on it yourself.
You’ll find it inside the .iso. Either mount the .iso or use something like "7z” to extract contents.
When are releases like X.X.1 available on the TN update Train & listed on the Software Status page, or even on the Download page?
Usually there’s an announcement on the forum when an update is released and usually around the same time the update is available via gui update (sometimes it’s available before the announcement post) and usually the same day a couple of hours later it gets available on the homepage
So, on this same forum, we’re waiting for the “25.10.1 is Now Available” post?
I guess I assumed, the podcast announcement WAS the version announcement. Not so, I guess.
No the podcast said it will be released someday this week. And yes this very forum will get the announcement post
