TrueNAS can't boot after instalation 'boot-pool' error

Hello,

I am trying to install TrueNAS, but even after reinstalling it three times, wiping the storage disks I can’t figure out what is wrong.

TrueNAS is installed on a NVME-ssd. And two other, wiped sata ssds are connected for storage.

I have tried 25.10 and 25.4, both result in the same error.

I sadly can’t attach the image, not link to an image.

I also can’t attach an image in the comments. I will just state what seems to be important:

“Message: cannot import ‘boot-pool’: no such pool available
Error: 1

Failed to import pool ‘boot-pool’.
Manually import the pool and exit.”

After that I am thrown into a shell, where I have tried cleaning up the storage disks and other stuff, but after reinstalling mutlipile times it sill does not work

Weird - any chance you have a spare usb around so you can quickly try installing TrueNAS to it (not recommended for long term use, this is just a test to exclude your current boot disk as the fault).

Try redownloading the iso; small chance it is corrupt.

Please provide details of your hardware; motherboard, cpu, ram, the nvme drives, etc. Is this a bare metal install or are you virtualizing truenas?

Look for your introductory email when you signed up for the forum and take the tutorial by TrueNAS-Bot. You should be able to post images and links after that and browsing a few more threads.

How many entries do you have in your UEFI boot menu? You may have used up all the space in the entries and TrueNAS can’t create any new ones for the install. It is not a space issue on the boot drive.

A full hardware listing may be helpful

Hey, sorry for not answering for so long. I found the solution to be that the NVMe ssd was broken. Installing it a SATA ssd works fine. Thank you for your feedback.
