TrueNAS SCALE 24.10.1 is Now Available!

When you have added apps via yaml, and you for example add an enviroment variable, save it and app gets restarted, you edit again and added variable is not shown within yaml. After refreshing browser it is shown. Happends with firefox and edge, dunno bout other browsers.

Sheesh … Another uneventful update … thanks fer nuthin’ :slightly_frowning_face:

SMB shares are still sharing
Plex is still plexing
Intel ARC A380 6GB is still Intel arc’ing

Nothing is borked … everything is STILL working

What am I supposed to do now?!

Write a post on your success… how are you using Intel ARC and how is it all performing?

For me, I’m using my Intel Arc A310 card solely for transcoding in the Jellyfin app, and even such a lowly card still transcodes like a champ. The system itself is using an AMD RX6400 purely for console display.

You sir … are correct!

I picked up the Sparkle ELF A380 6GB for $89 ā€œopen boxā€ at Newegg.

Plex has been super stable in SCALE, just like it was in CORE. Intel transcoding has been spot on before and after this latest update.

My desktop ASRock AM5 setup has been working just fantastic with SCALE… and with each new update, it just gets more and more … fantastic’r

Same issue here, although on a Scale install I did yesterday. Were you able to find a fix?

I took the plunge yesterday and upgraded Scale. I was reluctant to upgrade because I have been using Nextcloud since May 2024 and didn’t want to deal with fixing a borked app migration. The upgrade completed without errors from Scale and Nextcloud migrated perfectly! Was able to use Nextcloud without issues. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you TrueNAS team, great job!

For those of you who run scripts that email information to you, I would recommend that you maintain the ability to roll back until you test to see if your scripts send you the email you want. I spun up a VM of 24.10.1 to see if I could figure out the answer on how to replace sendmail with exim or possibly the API, while my actual NAS was rolled back to 24.10.0.2.

Since I was able to reproduce this issue on my test environment, I have posted a bug report: Jira
Unfortunately, I do not yet know about any fix.

Luckily it doesn’t seem to have any effect on functionality. Running wbinfo -t as root seems to show the AD connection is fine and new users created have the correct access

I am getting the below error for any app that is mounted using ixVolume, after I upgraded to 24.10.1.

File "/mnt/.ix-apps/app_configs/netdata/versions/1.2.4/templates/library/base_v2_1_5/validations.py", line 171, in allowed_fs_host_path_or_raise raise RenderError(f"Path [{path}] is not allowed to be mounted.") base_v2_1_5.error.RenderError: Path [/mnt/.ix-apps/app_mounts/netdata/config] is not allowed to be mounted.

Is this user error or should I log a bug?

I’m getting this now, too, while trying to upgrade Jellyfin. MinIO and TFTP both upgraded fine. I thought I had upgraded Jellyfin after upgrading to 24.10.1 yesterday, so I have a doubt.

Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve been in that Discover apps section. That solves it.

So most issues are resolved by refreshing the App catalog on the Discover screen?

Yes, stavros fixed a bug

During the last 12 days of Christmas, Electric Eel 24.10.1 became the most commonly-used specific version of TrueNAS software. It has surpassed all previous CORE and SCALE versions in a record time of only 12 days.

Thanks to all those in the Community who have tested, adopted, and posted.

There will be a Electric Eel 24.10.2 update in late January with more bug fixes. However, this version is good for most use-cases and has much better Apps.

This should be a bug, I can’t show the temperature either.
