While very few users will ever see these bugs, it was important to provide the update. TrueNAS 24.10.2 is by far the most commonly used version of TrueNAS and is the one one recommended to Conservative and Mission critical Enterprise users.

The software status page will be updated after a week or two of (hopefully) painless updates. Please report success or failure here to get the ball rolling.

Updated from 24.10.2 without any issue.
Lovely boring update, I love it.

Now Fangtooth 25.04 can come…

Another uneventful update on my end. The only glitch was that I had to manually download the update file as it failed a couple of times through the GUI.

There are about 10,000 systems that have updated to 24.10.2.1…

Not sure I have seen any issues.

I love it when an update just works without any side effects.

This was an uneventful update for me as well.

Easy for me too - no events.

My first TrueNAS update and the server is borked. RIP.

If you could share more details of what has happened. You can rollback to the prior release we leave those intact on upgrade. What version did you upgrade from? Have you filed a bug report?

Just updated OK except the apps service wasn’t running in the UI after reboot (but were in docker ps). Had to do the unset / set pool workaround.

Did you clear your UI cache after upgrade? If you did and the service wasn’t running it would be great to get a debug from your system.

I didn’t clear the cache (because it was the first time it’d ever happened to me) but I did do a hard refresh of the page. Once the pool had been set, the apps were displayed again without needing to refresh.

There is a fix included in 25.04 that should hopefully prevent issues like this

Specifically… reliably restarting docker when HDDs are used as the App pool.

Im not able to shut down my system completely after installing this update. With 24.10.2 i had no problems. C’mon why you guys can’t leave working stuff as it is instead of changing always something that results in a non working system?

Have the same issue like here: Truenas Scale did not turn off after shutdown - #4 by truenasca

System software is shut down but fans are still spinning and system power is still on.

It sounds like an problem with your specific system. If it’s not broken, don’t attempt to fix it. Old… but gold. Why update unless you are experiencing one of the minor issues this update addresses?

Also… as @Captain_Morgan stated: “TrueNAS 24.10.2 is by far the most commonly used version of TrueNAS and is the one one recommended to Conservative and Mission critical Enterprise users.”

If it’s the same issue, its a BIOS fix. Fix and confirm.

If not, please start a new thread. There’s certainly nothing in the 24.10.2.1 bugfixes that should have caused this issue.
