TrueNAS Scale 24.10.2 VM installer of Ubuntu 24.04 fails (Solved)

Hi, I upgraded to Electric Eel a while ago with existing VMs without issue. The problem appeared when I wanted to resize my virtual drive, and to do that I tried to boot the VM with a LiveCD iso. The LiveCD boots fine until the “preparing Ubuntu” GUI installer appears then it goes black.
No issues with booting from the installed Ubuntu OS in the VM, but I can’t resize a mounted partition.

Sorry if the topic is confusing. I am just trying to use the installer to change the partitions, and not trying to install/reinstall.

OS Version:TrueNAS-SCALE-24.10.2

host passthough

ensure display device checked

Edit: spelling

If you’re using LLVM (which is the Ubuntu default) these instructions work well.

Thank you that worked! Eventually I might want to expand it to beyond the MBR 2.2TB limit but that sounds like a reinstall, which can’t be done with the installer not working.
