hello all
this is a strange one
I use shortcuts in my web browser to access different devices or services
since monday when i try to connect to my truenas scale login screes from my HTPC (win10) the browser connects to the server and i get a blank screen.
I cleared the my browser cache several times, i verifed my credentials (all is fime), the server and the pc are on the same network and network group
i connect to my nas folders with no issues within my windows explorer.
What am i missing or what have i not done?
thank you and you all have a great day
Version of Chrome? Http or Https? Tested any other computers or browsers? Version of TrueNAS? Rebooted TrueNAS and/or Windows?

Thank you for your very prompt reply
Version of chrome 145.0.632. All my accesses are via http and on a win11 debian and mint pc (all using chrome as web) work fine.
The win 10 pc has been working fine and is being used as HTPC hence minimal changes to this machine safe from software updates
Can you try a different browser on the same machine?

sorry forgot to explain. When launching to shortcut to access truenas i do gert the dark background of the login gui but do not see the writings.
As mentioned other windows window and linux devices work fine.
However i tried on the win 10 pc using another browser (edge) and it works
Once again thank you all for your immediate reply
My Windows 11 pc has Chrome Version 145.0.7632.117 (Official Build) (64-bit). You can try updating to the latest version of Chrome on that PC.
You could take a look at the dev tools and see if there are strange errors in the console or on the network tab…
But still: does another browser work on the same machine?

Thank you
on the same device i used edge and it works. I will try to look at the dev tools as you mention however i will not know what to look for.
I looked at the development tools section for a new window.
I get “content unavailable resource not cashed”
btw this message shows up when reading 192.168.1.124>UI>singin
Thanks
Does it work in a chrome incognito tab?
Could you try creating a second chrome profile and test there?
I want to find out if there actually still is some cache, cookies or extensions interfering.

So incognito mode does a couple things that might be relevant here. It generally doesn’t have access to existing cookies and cached browsing data and it also disables (at least most? I think all?) extensions. Personally I’d lean toward an extension issue before a cookie, especially since you say you cleared cache multiple times, even if that’s not the same thing, so I would try going to chrome://extensions/ and disabling all extensions first to see if that works. If it does try turning them back on one a time until the problem recurs and you find the problematic one.

Thank you for your direction. I did delete and added all the extensions until i found the culprit.
what i do not understand is that the win 10 pc acts as htpc and no added functionalities or extentionshave been added recently
Once again thank you for pointing the possible culprits
