Upgraded from Core to Scale - RocketRaid 2320 drives not found

I have recently upgraded my backup file server (AMD Phenom 940 BE) to my old gaming computers components (4770k). During this process, I also upgraded from Core to Scale. The Highpoint RocketRaid 2320 that I have been using for years with TrueNas core is detected after bios post just like it was on my old board. It displays its menu and I am able to view all of the drives connected to it before TrueNas scale loads to the console menu. However in the web UI, I do NOT see any of the drives connected to the RocketRaid 2320 card.

I know there are a bunch of posts about how rocketraid or highpoint are trash and not to use them, but this is my old hardware that I’d rather not go to ewaste if possible. I have (5) 500GB 2.5" HDDs and (1) 320GB 2.5" HDD connected to the card that are old drives that I use for backup purposes.

All of the onboard SATA ports are in use by my other two storage pools and they were imported without issue to the new installation of TrueNas scale.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, judging from the copyright of this product leaflet, the controller is 20 years old?!

Likely it is driver related, as you switched from Core-BSD to Scale Debian. You could try to install the latest Core-version, maybe it still works with that, even though that only gets security updates.

There is always the dev mode of scale, but it still might not be easy to get it to work.

The sensible way is to buy a used LSI HBA in IT mode, and connect the drives to that.

Thank you for the reply!

I think that for now I am just going to re-install TrueNAS core again. I cant get the ACL to work to access the imported pools. I looked up some some LSI HBA’s on amazon. I will snag one later and upgrade to scale again and try to figure out everything thats new. I like the new features but doesn’t do me any good to not be able utlize my drives.
