Veeam Software Appliance does not start

Hi Forum!

I’m testing the new Veeam Software Application running on Truenas.
I followed the official Truenas documentation 1 by 1. (sorry - not allowed to post any links here)

When it comes to the step to remove the ISO / CDROM and performing a restart, I ran into this error:

You are in emergency mode. After logging in, type "journalctl -xb" to view system logs, "system-reboot" to reboot, "systemctl default" or "exit" to boot into default mode.

Cannot open access to console, the root account is locked.
See sulogin(8) man page for more details.

Press Enter to continue.

It ends in a cycle. I already installed Veeam SA in a Hyper-V VM which worked.

Im running TrueNAS Scale 24.10.2 and the latest Veeam ISO 13.0.1.180 (same as in the documentation). Does anybody have an idea ?

Complete the tutorial you were offered when registering. After that you can post links and attachments.

Hey, welcome to the forums. Our initial testing and documentation was performed on various versions of 25.10. I just tested on 24.10.2.4 and got the same error message.

We have had a lot of development activity in the VM service post 24.10. I am working to test the appliance image on 25.04, once that is complete I will get the docs article updated to reflect which versions the application is able to be successfully deployed.
