Hi all,
It’s my first post, please tell me if i need to change anything
So yesterday i heard my nas reboot spontaneousely (see hardware in signature).
Nothing was visible in the web interface, no alerts, nothing out of the ordinary.
After investigation, i found a bunch of these errors in my system logs :
May 03 17:28:15 nasname kernel: EDAC MC0: 1 CE ie31200 CE on mc#0csrow#3channel#1 (csrow:3 channel:1 page:0x0 offset:0x0 grain:8 syndrome:0xc1)
So i concluded to a faulty ram, confirmed by the ipmi. I removed the culprit, i don’t have the error anymore.
What is bothering me is that no alerts was visible in the web interface. The first EDAC error is almost a month old, the only thing that made me realize the issue is that i heard the nas reboot, luckily i was in the same room when it happened.
I checked alerts settings and it is set correctly. I used to have alerts when a scrub start or when an app update is available, but i don’t have them anymore, so i think something is wrong with the alerts on my system, but i don’t know where to look.
I run Trunas 25.10.3. I think the alerts stopped working around the time where i updated but i am not sure, it’s a bit old now
I dont have alert with mail, but i will probably set it up in the next days
Where should i look to understand the issue ? What is the name of the service handling alerts ?
Thank you for your help,
PS : i tried to open a bug report, but the jira site was painfully slow, i will try again tomorrow
