Curious minds want to know the answer to an additional question we asked in the last episode of TrueNAS Tech Talk - what type of GPU are you using for accelerating workloads?
It’s a multiple-choice poll, so check all that apply; but not if you’re just using it as the console display output.
I’d expand the poll. Hardware accelerators can come in many forms and a GPU is but one of them. Consider adding TPUs also since these small hardware USB dongles / PCI cards are revolutionary for AI workloads like Frigate. Unlike GPUs, they consume almost no power and are relatively inexpensive also.
Another valid check box should be “none”.
Oof, sole AMD user here, but in my defense it is a spare GPU (6750XT) and I intend to replace it with something Battlemage in the next year or so.
+1 On the TPU point though.
We’re specifically looking for a poll of the GPU users here. TPUs are great for AI workloads, but not transcoding.
Waiting for the ASPEED option
